The letters of the Apostle Paul, also known as the Pauline Epistles, form a cornerstone of Christian theology and provide profound insights into the early Church's beliefs and practices. Written during the first century AD, these epistles address various communities and individuals, offering guidance, encouragement, and theological instruction. Through his letters, Paul articulates key concepts such as grace, faith, and redemption, while addressing the challenges faced by believers in a diverse and often hostile environment. This timeline highlights significant events in Paul's life and ministry, illustrating the context in which these trans formative writings emerged and their lasting impact on Christianity.
All dates are approximate.
Paul also confirm that the Gospel of Luke was written early and not as some claim 2nd century or later. In 1st Timothy Paul quotes Luke "Let the presbyters who rule well be considered worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in preaching and teaching; for the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and, “The labourer deserves his wages.” (1 Timothy 5:17–18):
In 1 Timothy 5:17–18 we observe Paul quoting the Gospel of Luke as Scripture on equal level with Deuteronomy!
  1. The Gospel of Luke was written and published before the death of Paul (AD 65/68)
  2. Paul had read the Gospel of Luke and was in general circulation
  3. Paul regarded the Gospel of Luke as Scripture
  4. Paul considered Luke to be inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:16)
  5. Paul assumed that Timothy also regarded the Gospel of Luke as Scripture
Since Paul knew the Gospel of Luke and cited it as Scripture, there is no problem in identifying Paul’s “famous brother in the Gospel” (2 Cor 8:18)
Suddenly there is an internal strength to the canonical New Testament. The New Testament Gospels and Letters weren't  written together one hundred years after Christ. The Gospel of Luke comes less than thirty years after the resurrection…and it’s being cited by the Apostles as “Scripture” on par with the Torah!
